They were rather small but sufficient to provide cover for a person with a rifle. <br /><br />The Nephite's didn't have modern weaponry and built large defensive structures. This is pointed out in the BOM. This is completely ignored by the Heartland theorists and Meso American too. I don't see any of that in Meso America either. So Del's point is well taken. These itty-bitty walls and mounds don't mean anything and in fact show that those who believe these are what Moroni built is absolutely absurd. iterryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14836783863542965577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5948352943362975805.post-17419195366718390122017-04-05T13:02:38.851-07:002017-04-05T13:02:38.851-07:00The intial "would you want" question cou...The intial "would you want" question could come across as a straw man argument instead of a rhetorical interrogative, but later in the article there is this paragraph that better sums up the subject.<br /><br />"Does anyone really think these were the kinds of stone walls that Moroni built? Since the man was a military genius, always one step ahead of the Lamanites with his army, helmets, leg and arm protections that literally frightened the Lamanites into running before them, wouldn’t it be more realistic to think in terms of permanent stone walls that would have provided serious protection from Lamanites not just for one battle, but for years to come?"Michael Richardsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08315787162790624190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5948352943362975805.post-72440597409504990342017-04-05T11:27:06.537-07:002017-04-05T11:27:06.537-07:00There's sort of a straw man argument here, tho...There's sort of a straw man argument here, though. It doesn't matter whatsoever what WE would rather have, it only matters what the Nephites DID. These hatchet articles are the kind I detest, from all sides.
